The government recently announced welfare changes that will impact many thousands of people claiming disability benefits. A consultation is open that WRC will be responding to on behalf of the disabled women and women's organisations amongst our membership. This policy briefing outlines the main changes.

Pathways To Work Policy Briefing

We would like your feedback to help inform the consultation response. Please fill out our short survey about how these changes will affect you, your service users and your organisation. (Reading the policy briefing beforehand may help.) Those who complete the survey by Friday June 6th will be entered into our prize draw for chance to win a £100 voucher.

As well as the survey, there are some in-person and online events to feed your thoughts into your consultation. Tower Hamlets Women's Network, based in Bethnal Green, is holding a focus group on June 10th. More information here.

FiLiA will also be holding a series of women-only focus groups in Swansea on 24 May (11am) and in Glasgow on 1st June (1:30pm). To book your place at the Swansea or Glasgow focus groups, please email [email protected]

They’ll also be holding online focus groups via Zoom on

  • Thursday 22nd May at 7 p.m.
  • Thursday 5th June at 6.30 p.m.
  • Sunday 8th June at 3 p.m.

Go to one or all three – they’ll focus on different aspects of the consultation in each session. To book your place on the online sessions, please register here.
