Overview:

Join us for an insightful NBWL Bitesize Session, where we delve into the distinct yet complementary roles of mentorship, coaching, and sponsorship. Understanding the differences between these three forms of professional support is crucial for navigating your career effectively and maximising the opportunities available to you.

Key Topics Covered:

  •  Mentorship: What it is, how it works, and the benefits of having a mentor in your career journey.
  • Coaching: The unique focus on skill development, goal-setting, and personal growth, and how it differs from mentorship.
  • Sponsorship: The power of sponsorship in career advancement, how sponsors can advocate for you, and why it’s essential to seek out sponsors in your professional life.

Discussion/Q&A: After a 25-minute presentation, we’ll open the floor to our members and guests for a 20-minute interactive discussion and Q&A session. This is your opportunity to ask questions about the Network for Black Women Leaders, share experiences, and gain deeper insights into how you can leverage mentorship, coaching, and sponsorship to propel your career forward.

Who Should Attend: This event is open to existing members of the Network for Black Women Leaders, new members and Black women of African and Caribbean heritage interested in joining our coaching and mentoring programmes. This session is ideal for Black women looking to understand how these key forms of support can shape their career trajectory, whether you’re an early-career professional, returning to work, an emerging leader, or someone looking to enhance your current professional relationships.

Hosted by: Jaiye Elias, Project Lead for The Network for Black Women Leaders
